Shirley L. Hall (Shenk), age 89 and a resident of Amherst, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

Shirley was born March 18, 1934 in Columbiana County to the late Noah and Frances (nee Bessire) Shenk.  She was a graduate of Elida High School where she formerly was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen.  Following high school, Shirley worked at Meadow Gold Milk in Lima which is where she met her future husband, Robert Dwaine Hall.  They were married July 2, 1955.  Shirley was a homemaker for many years who raised their seven children.  Along with her husband, they owned and operated the S & D Trucking Company in Amherst. Throughout her life, Shirley enjoyed crocheting, sewing her children's clothes and also sewing matching Barbie doll outfits for her daughters.  She also received several Fish Ohio recognition pins for her fishing skills, and she loved going to casinos and playing slot machines.

Shirley was a lifetime member of Community Congregational United Church of Amherst.

Survivors include her seven children; Lou Ann Hollar (Randy), Cheryl Zabrecky, Tammy Pope (Raymond), Kathy Engle, Debbie Hall (David Ilcisco), David Hall (Tammy Kay), Sandy Angell (Tom), eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, fifteen step-great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two step great great grandchildren, and her sister Kay Fowler.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Dwaine Hall (2021), and her sisters Jean Foulus, Pat Newland, and Connie Strayer.

A private graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
