DOROTHY MARTIN Obituary

Dorothy E. Martin (nee Becker), age 80 and a longtime resident of Henrietta and Elyria, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Kingston of Vermilion where she was presently residing.

Dorothy was born July 11, 1940 in Oberlin to the late Carl and Blanche (nee Betts) Becker. She was a 1958 graduate of Firelands High School. Throughout her working years Dorothy was employed in the clerical field having been employed at Gilford Instruments, Oberlin, Meyer Goldberg, Lorain, and the former People’s Bank, Oberlin. She was a member of Henrietta United Church of Christ. Dorothy enjoyed golfing, reading, bowling, and creating quilt tops. Dorothy was a member of the Hall of Fame of the Elyria Women’s Bowling Association.

Survivors include her son Dwayne Becker (Jennifer) of Wakeman, her grandsons Jonah Becker of Wakeman and Daniel Becker (Kerri) of North Carolina, great grandchildren Rebekah, Aydan, Dominik, and James Becker, brothers Mike Becker (Marilyn) of Florida and Leonard Becker of Wakeman, and step-daughters Dawn Martin and Diane Macbeth.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Carl Martin (1994), great grandson Kristofer Becker, brother Emil Becker, sister Alberta Black, and sister-in-law Laureen Becker.

There will be a private family service with a Celebration of Life this summer to be announced.
