Sandra Lee Balko (nee Tucker), age 84 and a longtime resident of Amherst, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Mercy New Life Hospice after a short illness.

Sandra was born in Cleveland, July 29, 1940 to the late Julius J. and Eleanor (nee Pescar) Tucker.  She was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1958B.  Throughout her life, Sandy was a homemaker who enjoyed boating, traveling, all music especially jazz, and socializing with her friends and family.  Sandy loved the flowers and plants at her home.  Native of Lorain, she spent many hours at Lakeview Park, the Beaver Park Marina, and the Museum Beach in Vermilion.

Survivors include her husband Daniel F. Balko and their three children; Laura Lee Kollar of Florida, Kenneth John Balko and his wife Wanpen Mingkum of Lorain, Wayne Andrew Balko (Samantha Lindner) of North Ridgeville, grandchildren; Desire Elaine Kollar of Florida, Cody John Balko of Lorain, Maximus Paul Balko of North Ridgeville, and her sister Brenda Jones.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her twin grandsons Logan John Balko and Matthew John Balko, and her sisters JoEllen Foster and Barbara Tucker.

Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6-8 p.m.  The funeral service will take place 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the funeral home with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
