IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roxanne (Raifsnyder)
Reynolds
August 13, 1939 – April 4, 2024
Roxanne Reynolds (Raifsnyder), born on August 13th, 1939, to Lloyd and Inez Raifsnyder, passed away on April 4th in her beloved home in Grafton, Ohio.
Roxanne was born in Clyde, Ohio. At the age of 14, her family moved to Amherst and in 1957 she graduated from Amherst's Marion L. Steele High School and married Bill Reynolds, her high school sweetheart.
She and Bill raised their three children in Amherst where Roxanne was active in her community. Roxanne loved her family with all of her heart. They enjoyed camping, board games, birthday and holiday celebrations, and community events.
After her children graduated from high school, Roxanne returned to school to earn her nursing degree from the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1982. She worked at the Cleveland Clinic for years and even served as the private nurse to the king of Jordan.
When grandkids came along, she enjoyed hosting sleep-overs, shopping, and celebrating Christmas together.
Roxanne was a prolific artist, connoisseur of dress shoes, business manager, and francophone. She and Bill hosted over 500 visiting missionaries in their Grafton home. Most of all, she was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She and Bill spent 40 years caring for under-served people around the world–especially through medical missions in West and Central Africa and the Faith Baptist Community Center in Cleveland. She loved traveling and visited many places, whether to different regions of Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, or the Middle East, and most of the United States.
Roxanne is survived by her husband Bill of 66 years, two sons Michael (Mari Kuroda) and David (Marsha), one daughter Linda Baus (Bryan), eight grandchildren (Laura, Sarah, Karen, Leah, Gena, Elijah, Molly, and Ben), and ten great grandchildren (Lucy, Cooper, Stella, Trevor, Macey, Sam, Ezekiel, Charlie, Maya, and Jane).
She will be missed tremendously.
A memorial service for Roxanne will be held on Saturday, May 18th, from 6 to 8pm at the Carlisle Reservation Visitor Center, 12882 Diagonal Road, Lagrange, OH 44050. A eulogy to honor Roxanne is to begin at 6:15pm. All are welcome to join in this celebration of a remarkable woman's life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift to Hospice of The Western Reserve (855.475.0245, hospicewr.org/Give , PO Box 72101 Cleveland, OH 44192).
