Raymond Franklin Millard II, age 80 and a life resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Ganzhorn Suites of Avon after a four year illness.
He was born in Lorain, January 11, 1945 to the late Raymond F. and Bonnie M. (nee Wyatt) Millard.
Ray attended Lorain High School and was a member of the Class of 1963. Following high school he was employed at the former Fruehauf, Avon Lake and then went on to a 30 year career at the United States Steel Corporation, Lorain retiring in 2000. He was a car enthusiast working on his classic Ford cars, attended local car shows, and enjoyed World War II history. Ray also enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing and singing karaoke.
Survivors include his son Raymond F. (Debra) Millard III of Amherst, and Karen E. (Bryan) Plemons of Amherst; 6 grandchildren; Danielle (Steve) Gomez, Kaylee (Brandon) Jirousek, Emily (Jack) Maple, Olivia Plemons (Patrick Haponek), Abigail Plemons, Spencer Plemons, 7 great grandchildren; and his six siblings; Marcia Figueroa, Roger Millard, Molley Millard, Brenda Santanio, Tamara Millard, and Randy Millard.
In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie R. Millard and brother Richard D. Millard.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 6 to 8 PM. Private family burial will take place in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
