Pauline "Polly" Green, age 88 and a resident of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26th, 2024, at New Life Hospice, Lorain, after a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Alexander Nelson and Clara Hedrick. Born and raised in Owen, Indiana, she graduated from Campbellsburg High School and married her high school sweetheart, Robert. She was a practicing nurse until they decided to start a family. She continued life in Beaver, Pennsylvania, as a housewife and mother, raising three sons. Pauline, better known to friends and family as Polly or Nana, moved to Amherst, Ohio, in 2016 with her husband to be closer to her family. Polly's heart was always filled with love for her family. Nothing put a smile on her face quicker than the morning sun shining across her peaceful little garden, sharing the front porch in the afternoon with family, or waiting for the grandchildren to knock on the door so she could share a candy or two with them. Polly was an amazing matriarch of her family and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She leaves behind sons Kerry (Emily) Green of New Jersey, Keith (Annie) Green of Amherst Township, daughter-in-law Karen Green of Pennsylvania, and grandchildren Ben (Lindsey) Green of Pennsylvania, Jess (Matt) Porter of Pennsylvania, Rob Green (Danielle) of New Jersey, Rachel (Tony) Walczak of North Olmsted, Angela (Baraa) Yahya of Maryland, Kelly Green (Keith Frank) of Lakewood, Kimberly (Christopher) Gruver of Amherst, Chelle (Herb) Jacoby of Amherst, Donald McCoy Jr of Lorain, and Katie Green of Amherst. She was also Nana to fourteen great-grandchildren: Natalee, Nicole, Zayn, Knox, Kim, Kylie, John, Liam, Millie, Autumn, Allie, DJ, Ryder, and Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Green, and a son, Kim Alan Green. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Give Papaw a hug for us!

Family will receive friends Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12 NOON to 2p.m. for a Celebration of Life.
