Martha E. Urig, age 61 and a native of Amherst Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Blossom Hill Center Ridge House of Westlake, after a brief illness.

Martha was born in Amherst on July 8, 1965 in Amherst to the late Charles A. Urig and Catherine A. (nee Delzeith) Urig.

Martha spent many years attending both the Murray Ridge School and the Murray Ridge Adult Workshop.

Survivors include her mother, Catherine Urig, of Amherst Township; brother and sister-in-law David and Marie Urig of Amherst Township; her three sisters, Barbara Payne of Elyria, Patricia Anderson of Texas, Rebecca Adams of Amherst Township; five nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles "Chuck" Urig, in 1994.

Family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Timothy O'Connor, pastor, will officiate with burial following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.

In Martha's honor, memorials may be made to Blossom Hill Foundation, 7080 Engle Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH 44130.

Martha will be loved and missed by her family and all the caregivers throughout her life.
