Laurie Beth Steiner (nee Brown), age 70 and a long time resident of South Amherst, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 28, 2022 after a short illness. Laurie was born in Lorain, November 17, 1952 to the late Jack C. and Jeanne E. (nee McCray) Brown. She was a 1971 graduate of the former Lorain Catholic High School. Laurie had been employed at the Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin where she was an administrative assistant and worked there until retiring in 2015. Laurie loved baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians, camping, and most especially spending time and playing with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Vicki Steiner of South Amherst, son and daughter-in-law Brian (Ashlea) Steiner of South Amherst, her four grandchildren; Benjamin, Blake, Alaina, Matthew, and two sisters Linda (Paul) Schweinberg of Amherst Township and Jeanne (Dan) Haid of Lorain. In addition to her parents, Laurie was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Bruce W. Steiner (2019), brother Jack Brown, and sister Kathy Shepherd. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Family and Friends may gather for the graveside service which will take place 2 p.m., Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
