John "Jack" Edward Brown passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born August 16, 1944 in Oberlin to the late Jack C. and Jeanne E. (nee McCray) Brown. Jack was a 1963 graduate of Lorain High School. Following graduation he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After his time in the service, Jack married his childhood sweetheart Joan Marie Raider and they settled in Lorain where they raised their family. Jack and Joan celebrated 54 years of marriage this past October. Jack worked at B.F. Goodrich for over 40 years and retired in 2009. He loved socializing and going out with friends here in Ohio and at their winter home in Surprise, Arizona. Jack loved spending time with his family and loved ones, sitting around the pool, enjoyed a cold beer, and telling stories. He also enjoyed traveling to Mexico and spending vacations in Myrtle Beach surrounded by family and friends. A "Jack of all Trades", he lovingly and meticulously built home additions onto his three children's homes taking great pride in his workmanship. Surviving is his wife Joan M. (nee Raider) Brown, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Timothy Glowacki, grandchildren; Kenneth (Jacqueline) Glowacki, Tyler (Ashley) Glowacki, Nicholas (Kara) Glowacki, Zachary Glowacki, Dakota Brown, Cole Brown, Jack "JT" Brown, Taylor Brown, great grandchildren; Jack and Emery Glowacki, Roweyn Glowacki, Riley Francisco, Brinley Adams, sisters; Laurie Steiner, Linda (Paul) Schweinberg, and Jeanne (Dan) Haid. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sons Jack and David Brown, and his sister Kathy Shepherd. Family will receive friends Monday, July 5, 2021 from 1-5 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Following visitation Mass of Christian will be celebrated 6 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 W. 7th St., Lorain with Pastor Rev. Daniel Divis, officiating. Military rites conducted by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will take place following mass. Private family interment.
