Helen C. Darmos (nee Nicholson), age 82 and a longtime resident of Amherst, passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 23, 2021. Helen was born October 26, 1938 in Buffalo Township to the late Thomas and Esther (nee Murphy) Nicholson. She was a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Master Degree in Education. Helen was a home economics teacher at Elyria West High School until it's closing in 1995 after which she retired. Helen enjoyed music and landscaping her yard. Surviving is her son Darin T. Darmos of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Donald J. Darmos who passed away November 20, 2020. Friends will be received at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Monday 11 a.m. until noon time of service. Rev. Paul Werner, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
