Harold "Hal" Hassenrueck, age 73 and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Ames Family Hospice, Westlake. He was born September 18, 1948 in Germany to the late Gerd and Adel (nee Beike) Hassenrueck. In 1952 he emigrated to the United States with his family. Hal was a graduate of North Olmsted High School. Throughout his life he was a network administrator in the computer industry working in Cleveland. He enjoyed playing the organ and rebuilding cars. Hal was a member of First Baptist Church, Elyria, where he previously had been their organist. Survivors include his three sons; Dave of Sheffield Lake, Dan of Amherst, Devon (Kelli) of Toledo, grandsons Colin and Mason, and sisters Dagmar and Heidi. Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 2-4 p.m.
