Obituary

Carol Jean (Borer) Todhunter passed away peacefully Thursday, June 2, 2022 surrounded by family after a long battle with dementia. She had the lifelong love story with her husband Jim, recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Carol was retired from St. Joseph Catholic School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. She had fond memories of many family times at the cottage on Lake Gilead, Michigan. She loved when her children and grandchildren were with her. The past few years were especially difficult but having Chloe her Schnauzer by her side, made life a little easier. She is survived by her loving husband James J. Todhunter, their children; Scott (Karen) Todhunter, Jim (Erica) Todhunter, Jean (Dave) Garra, Kelly (Gary) Post; her grandchildren John Todhunter, Michael Todhunter, Lauren (Green) Rogers, Zachary Garra, Kara (Matthew) Ortiz, Ryan Post; great grandchildren; Xzander, Charlie, Jazzmyn, Aiden; and brothers Rev. Robert Borer and Jerry Borer. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Jerome and Elaine Borer and her brother David Borer. The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy New Life Hospice for helping care for her and all of the support they gave to family members. Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Monday. Rev. Robert Borer will officiate with burial following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst. In Carol's honor, memorials may be made to Mercy New life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053 or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Jospeh Dr., Amherst, OH 44001.
