Bobby Ray Farmer, age 71 and a longtime resident of Lorain, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at O'Neill Healthcare, North Ridgeville, due to natural causes.
Ray was born on October 22, 1954, in Lorain, to the late Bobby Randolph Farmer and Juanita (nee Carter) Farmer Allison. Bobby attended the Murray Ridge School and worked as an assembler at the Murray Ridge Workshop. He enjoyed painting pictures, gardening, singing, and attending church. He will be loved and missed by his family.
Survivors include his five siblings: Kenneth Farmer of West Virginia, Gaynalle Law of LaGrange, Brenda Rundell of Lorain, Larry Spriggs of North Carolina, and Randall Farmer of North Olmsted; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of friends from the Murray Ridge Workshop.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sister Jeannette Spriggs and his wife Darlene Farmer, whom he met while working at the Murray Ridge Workshop.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Mark Telepak officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
