Barbara Czech Krebs, age 81 and long-time resident of Amherst, Ohio, died on January 15, 2024. She passed away peacefully to join her Lord, and joyfully, is now reunited with her husband of 54 years, David who passed away in 2019. Born in Lorain, Ohio, she moved to Amherst after marrying David in 1964. Beginning in 1980, and through many years since, was active at St. Joseph Parish as a Eucharistic Minister. Together with her husband she coordinated the elementary Parish School of Religion (PSR) program, taught "praying" to junior high PSR students, and prepared students to receive sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Reconciliation) in the RCIC program. She served as head sacristan and served on the Liturgy, Finance and Spiritual Development Committees. It was her goal to deepen her relationship with God and wanted to take along anyone else who wanted to do the same. Employed by First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Lorain for 27 years, she retired as Assistant Vice-President of the company, heading their Escrow Department. She enjoyed serving others, the company of co-workers, and furthering her education with the help of First Federal. Barb enjoyed golf, snow skiing, reading, swimming, hot tubs, train trips, crossword puzzles and travelling. She loved to spend time with the two Keeshond dogs that she loved but most important were the beautiful memories she created with her loving husband Dave, and the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her sister Carole Ryan, 10 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

Preceded in death by her parents, Walter, and Anna (Mroski) Czech, her husband, David, and her brother Donald. Please join her family in remembering Barbara at St Joseph Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, Ohio on Saturday, May 11, 2024. We will begin praying the rosary at 9 am and then celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am Father Tim O'Connor will officiate with a reception to follow immediately. Her ashes will rest for eternity in Calvary Cemetery in the niche near her husband; entombment to take place at 1 pm. Family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Joseph School, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
