Helen L. Turner (nee Hadley), age 88 and a resident of Oberlin passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin surrounded by her loving family.


Helen was born November 3, 1931 in East Liverpool to the late Harold and Rachel (nee Grimm) Hadley.  She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School.  Throughout her life Helen was a homemaker and stay at home mom.  She enjoyed making pottery, painting and glazing, and was a gifted crafter.  Helen was very active in her church, the former Amherst Church of Christ now known as New Beginnings Church of Christ.


Survivors include her three children; son Bruce (Vicki) Turner of Amherst, daughter Cathy (David) Turner Wooten of Kentucky, son John (Anna) Turner of Oberlin, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Melodey Turner of Amherst, and son-in-law Burt Cooper of Wellington.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Robert Earl Turner (1977), sons David Turner (1977) and James Russell Turner (2020), daughter Marilyn Cooper (2018), and her sisters Mary Culler and Ruth Freeman.


Family will receive friends Friday, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., time of service at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst.  Robert Turner will officiate the service with burial following in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
