Laura L. Nixon (nee Lemkuhl), age 72 and a resident of Amherst Township,
passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus
after a sudden illness.

Laura was born November 25, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late
Charles A. and Doris D. (nee Erwin) Lemkuhl.  After graduating college Laura
was a teacher at Firelands High School from 1969-1972.  She was a stay at
home mom who raised her children along with her husband Rodney.  Laura loved
Jesus and was very active in her church community, Harvest Christian Church
of Elyria.  At her church she was a Sunday School Teacher, taught Vacation
Bible School, and was a member of the church's Women's Group.  An avid
reader, Laura made weekly trips to the Amherst Public Library.   She also
was an author of children's books.  Throughout her life she enjoyed scrap
booking and travelling.   Laura's greatest joy in life was attending her
grandchildren's school and sporting events.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Rodney C. Nixon, their
four children; John (Jennifer) Nixon of Medina, Melody Nixon (Aleksandar
Nikolic) of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Farmer Nixon of Amherst, Mallory
(Chris) Nixon of Medina, nine grandchildren; Alexander, William "Liam",
Lydia, Brennan, Emery, Silas, Jude, and Levi Nixon, Luka Nikolic, and her
sister Louise Lemkuhl.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her brother
Charles Lemkuhl III.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Garland-Misencik Funeral
Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst.  The funeral service will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park,
Amherst Township.
