Edward D. Gordon, 85, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Mercy New Life Hospice following a brief illness.


He was born September 19, 1936 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Robert H. and Louise M. (nee Pinion) Gordon.


Ed was a graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit and then served in the United States Coast Guard.


Mr. Gordon was employed as an air traffic controller at Oberlin Center and then the Navy Finance Center in Cleveland.  He was a volunteer with the Lorain Coast Guard Auxiliary and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his family.


He is survived by his daughters Linda (Tom) Nichols and Lisa Hampton, grandsons; Nick Gordon, Chad Nichols, and Shawn Hampton, and his sister Mary Wilson.


In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, brother Robert Gordon, and son-in-law James Hampton.


Burial will be private at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
