Theodore “Ted” A. Privett, age 64 and a resident of Oberlin, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at his residence.

 

Ted was born August 12, 1955 in Amherst to the late Willard T. and Vercie A. (nee Harness) Privett.  He was a 1973 graduate of Oberlin High School and Lorain County Joint Vocational School.   Ted served two terms in the United States Navy during the 1970s and 1980s.  Throughout his life he was very involved with the Navy and Navy memorabilia.

 

Survivors include his four sisters; Maxine Smith of Columbus, Carole Casada, Shelly Morgan, Lana Privett, all of South Amherst, and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his brother Charles Harness (1979).

 

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst.  Ted will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio on Thursday, July 9, 2020.
