OBITUARY
ROBERT PAPULA

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Papula, announce he passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
Bob was born in Braddock PA to the late George A. Papula and the late Margaret F. Papula (nee Banas) on March 3, 1947. He is predeceased by his wife Eeva (nee Kortinnen) and a brother Dennis. He is survived by his son Michael of Murfreesboro TN, his daughter Caryn of Oberlin, and three brothers George (Arleen) of Fairfax Station VA, Lawrence (Gail) of Asheville NC, and Ronald (Stefani) of Clinton MD. He is also survived by four grandsons, Joshua of Birmingham AL, and Thaddeus, Zachery, and Matthew of Bowling Green Ky.
After serving in the US Air Force and meeting Eeva in England, he proudly worked in the demanding position of an Air Traffic Controller out of the FAA's Oberlin Center, receiving accommodations for his ability. Bob later worked as a USPS Letter Carrier and was much loved on his routes.
Bob was a music lover, especially of Doo Wop and early R & B, and could enlighten those around him with the artist, date, and label of many lesser know artists. He was also known for his interest in Pittsburgh professional teams, especially the Steelers. Bob was especially loved for his wit and humor and would have those around him laughing to tears. It is with those tears of laughter that Bob would like to be remembered.
At Bob's request, there will be no service. He will be interned at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, next to Eeva.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to PAWS Ohio.
